Scriptural Evidence for the Triune God
The Bible clearly shows that The Father and The Son are one. Jesus was not created but was from everlasting with the Father. The following scriptures show beyond any doubt that Jesus Christ is God, made manifest in the flesh . God himself coming to earth in a human body to save those who would believe in Him.

1 John 2:1
In the beginning *God created the heaven and the earth.
*(In the original hebrew the word here for God was Elohim meaning a plurality.)
And God said, Let *us make man in our image, after *our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
*(Plural, meaning more than one, the Godhead.)
Colossians 2:8, 9
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And God said, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, *I AM hath sent me unto you.
Jesus said, unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, *I am.
*(God says I Am, Jesus says I AM).
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
(We see earlier in this chapter that it is Jesus that is speaking ).
I and my Father are one.
(These verses tell us that God the Father and God the Son are one, both referring to themselves as the beginning and the end, the first and the last.)
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
(This verse reveals that the child, Jesus, will be called The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace).
Isaiah 43:10, 11
You are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
(In Isaiah God says "beside me there is no saviour," in Luke Christ is called the saviour).
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
(This verse, speaking of the one who will come forth, out of Bethlehem, to be ruler in Isreal, is JESUS. This clearly shows that Jesus was not created as some teach, but from everlasting ).
John 5:17, 18
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
…hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Colossians 1:15, 16
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
( These verses show of Christ's pre-existence, that by Christ all things were created ).
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O'God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
(this verse shows God the Father referring to his Son, Jesus, as O'God ).
Psalm 45:6, 7
Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: *therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
*(Here again God the Father refers to the anointed one, Jesus, as God).
The Lord (Jehovah) is King forever and ever;
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
(In Psalms, the Lord (God) is King forever, yet in Rev. 19, speaking of Jesus, he is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.)
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: *God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, *God with us.
Titus 2:13, 14
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great *God and Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
(These verses show that Jesus Christ is *God, *manifest in the flesh, *with us on earth, *our God and Saviour ).
These Scriptures show that Jesus Christ is God, otherwise we have two Lords of glory, two mighty Gods, two everlasting Fathers, two King of Kings, two Saviours and two I AM's. The fact is they are one and there is no other.
The Deity of the Holy Spirit
1 Acts 5:3, 4
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not your own? and after it was sold, was it not in your own power? why have you conceived this thing in your heart? you have not lied to men, but to God. (Holy Spirit called God )
Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (a triune God, the Godhead)
2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (the triune nature of God)
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (eternal)
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Omnipotent)
Corinthians 2:10, 11
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (Omniscient)
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven You are there; if I make my bed in sheol, behold You are there; If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. (Omnipresent)
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Creator)
1 Corinthians 12:6, 11
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. (Sovereign)
Matthew 12:31, 32
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (Sin against eternal)
These Scriptures show that the Holy Spirit is God. Thus we have the Trinity, the triune Godhead, The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, all in One, the only One. It is vitally important that we recognize the difference between the words Being and Person…. Being is what makes something what it is. Person is what makes someone who he or she is…. when speaking of the Trinity, we speak of one what (the Being of God) and three whos (the three divine Persons). Most rejections of the Trinity focus on blurring the distinction.
