Verse 16

sweet savour. A savour of satisfaction. Some codices, with Samaritan Pentateuch and Septuagint, add "unto Jehovah".


Verse 17

a perpetual statute, &c. Hebrew "a statute for ever, throughout your generations, in all your dwellings". This important phrase occurs only four times, Leviticus 3:17; Leviticus 23:14, Leviticus 23:21 (inverted), 31.
