Verse 1
chief fathers = heads.
sons. A special various reading called Sevir (App-34), with Syriac, reads "son", as in Numbers 36:12.
children = sons.
Verse 2
The LORD. Hebrew. Jehovah. App-4.
my lord = Moses, to whom the commandment was given. Numbers 26:52, Numbers 26:53, &c.; Numbers 27:6, Numbers 27:7.
Verse 5
word. Hebrew mouth. Put by Figure of speech Metonymy (of Cause), App-6, for what is spoken by it.
Verse 13
