Numbers 9

Verse 1

spake. See note on Numbers 1:1. During the week of Aaron's consecration, Abib 1-8

first month, &c. Therefore before the numbering which was on the first day of the second month (Numbers 1:1, Numbers 1:2). The observance mentioned here in connection with the second passover, a month later (verses: Numbers 9:6-11).


Verse 3

children = sons.


Verse 5

kept the passover: the second of ten recorded. See note on Exodus 12:18, Exodus 12:28. Leviticus 23:5. Leviticus 28:16. Deuteronomy 16:2, and Compare Numbers 7:89, Numbers 9:14.


Verse 6

men. Hebrew, plural of "ish or "enosh, App-14. Probably Mishael and Elizaphan, who had buried Nadab and Abihu (Leviticus 10:1-4); they were thus rendered unclean, and could not keep the passover (Numbers 19:11; Numbers 5:2).

Verse 10
