1 Chronicles 17:1-27. Davids Purpose to Build a Temple is Hindered by Nathan; God's Promise to him; his Prayer (see notes on 2 Samuel 7).
1 Chronicles 17:1. in his house: the words in 2 Samuel 7:1, "and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies round about," are omitted here as the Chronicler, looking back upon the history of those times, saw that this "rest" had been of but short duration.
